Day 1
We stopped at the "Visitor Center" off the highway about 12 miles before the exit for the entertainment section of Branson. It is not an official visitor center, it is run by a company that sells time-shares, they try to talk you into going to one of their sales seminars. Our advice is don't stop there unless, like us, you really need to use the facilities. If you do stop to use the facilities when you are done just wave and walk by the people calling out to you from behind the counter.
We had bought tickets on-line from Vacations Made Easy @ BransonShows.com, this is not advisable. You can save a lot of money by purchasing your tickets directly from the theater. Most theaters have a deal that if you attend one show at full price you can present your receipt and get a considerable discount on other shows at the same theater. Also, Vacations Made Easy is another time-share company, they will not mail your tickets making you pick them up at their center then trying to get you to attend one of their sales seminars.

Mike Walker impersonates Conway Twitty in this show. The flyer for the show quotes Mickey Gilley as saying "if you closed your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell if it is Mike or Conway himself." On a couple of songs, "Who Do They Think He Was" and "Midnight Special", this statement is true. On other songs he does a very good to excellent job. Conway Twitty was Ernie's favorite country singer, Ernie loved this show and was pleased that the two songs were included, others might not include these in a Conway tribute show. Of course he started the show with "Hello Darling" and ended with "It's Only Make Believe". Many other Conway hits were included in the show.
Two ladies from other shows were Mike's backup singers. They each did a Conway/Loretta duet with Mike. One of them, whose name we do not remember, performed Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man with Mike. It was a nice cover of the song. The other woman, Kathy Eckert, performed "After The Fire Is Gone" with Mike. When Kathy first started to sing, Dale and Ernie looked at each other and went "WOW" she sounded just like Loretta.

Day 2
We attended the "Good Ol' Boys" show at 10:00 AM. This is a classic country show starring "Brother South". Brother South is two non-related singers, Dave & Shane. They cover classic country songs, they do not try to imitate the original singers, but do a great job on the songs. The drummer was a lady, we did not catch her name, that was the drummer for the show for the first time. She did a great job. Both Dale & Ernie loved this show and would recommend it to anyone who will be in Branson.

This dinner/show is also called "Chuck Wagon Round-Up On The Trail". The venue is setup with rows of counters with seats on only one side of the counter facing the stage. Everyone has a great seat as each counter going away from the stage is on a raised level over the counter in front. The food is cooked in a smoker using authentic chuck wagon recipes. Most everyone really liked the food, we thought it was OK. The show consisted of singing & comedy. The musical portion of the show consisted of cowboy, gospel, hymns, praise & worship and patriotic songs. We really liked the show.

Day 3
On Sunday morning we attended a worship service at the "God and Country" theater. This is the same venue where we saw the "Conway Remembered" and "Good Ol' Boys" shows. There was a lot of Gospel, Praise & Worship, and Hymn music. There was a little bit of advertising of where else the musicians and singers were appearing, but not so much as to be greatly distracting from the worship. The pastor of the Cowboy Church gave the message, he had been a military chaplain. The message was very good, the delivery was a little strong for us, but we felt as if we had attended worship.

As the name implies this show consisted of Gospel, Praise & Worship, and Hymn music. The entertainment was the Bacon family, the main members of the family are Max, his wife Jenine, two of their sons Brad & Doug, Doug's daughter Shelby and Brad's wife Mindee. Other family members who performed were Doug's son Garrett and two of Brad's young daughters whose names we did not catch. The show features a six piece band. Band members include Jonathan Black on piano and sax, Lance Taylor on keyboards, Randy Plummer on Bass Guitar, Andy Holloway on Drums, Mike Arledge on lead guitar, and George Geisser, who plays a variety of instruments. Band members that sang solo were Randy Plummer, Lance Taylor, and George Geisser. Lance Taylor was involved in a terrible accident and was in a coma for 3 months, after having to re-learn how to walk and talk he is working his way back to being able to perform as he used to, the fact he is able to play the keyboards and do a solo performance is a tribute to God's great healing power. This was a wonderful show.

'Legends In Concert' is considered one of the must see shows in Branson. We really enjoyed it, but we think all of the other shows we attended were better. The singers that were impersonated for this show were: Kenny Chesney, Lionel Richie, The Blues Brothers, Bette Midler, and Elvis Presley. There was suppose to be an Ann Margaret impersonator, but there wasn't one, no explanation was given why she did not perform. The Kenny Chesney impersonator was really good. There are so many Elvis impersonators, it is hard to rate how good this one is. We are not familiar enough with the other three impersonators to say if their impersonations were accurate, but what they did was enjoyable to watch. The internet description for this show stated no cameras were allowed, at the show it was announced no flash photography was allowed. We had not brought our camera.
